HD Makeup Studio & Academy (formerly Basement Academy) is the Finest in Precision Haircutting and Hi-Definition (HD) Makeup Education, conventional and airbrush, in the Philippines.  It achieves this through the use of world class curriculum and internationally-trained instructors, very low student-to-teacher ratio, practice on live models provided by the school, and the use of Hollywood-proven professional HD makeup products.

The Academy's co-founders and principal instructors are:

Jeave Gabiana founded Basement Academy and is one of the very few in the Philippines who has completed a Diploma Course from Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles. He personally teaches all our precision cutting courses. While at Sassoon, he was cited by Stephen Moody, Executive Director for International Education at Vidal Sassoon Academy, for providing "immensely valuable comments" in revising the book, "ABC, Cutting Hair the Vidal Sassoon Way". Upon graduation, he was given the "Best Overall Look Award".  He also completed the Diploma in Beauty and High Fashion Makeup at the Cinema Makeup School in Hollywood and Professional Airbrush Course from LCE School of Art and Design in Singapore.  A photographer, he specializes in fashion, portrait, and macro photography.

He has appeared in TV shows such as Boy & Kris, Sweet Life, US Girls, GMA's Entertainment Central, Ruffa & Ai, and MTV.

Prior to doing hair and makeup, Jeave spent more than 20 years in the corporate world in the Philippines and abroad.  He is a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines and has attended the following programs:  Master in Business Management at the Asian Institute of Management (Manila), Master in Finance at the University of Illinois, and Master in Taxation at the Golden Gate University (San Francisco).

Christephanie Chua-Sing completed her makeup studies at Cinema Makeup School in Hollywood and Professional Airbrush Course from LCE School of Art and Design in Singapore. She is also a graduate of The Character & Special Makeup Effects Artist Program of Complections College of Makeup Art & Design, Toronto, Canada.  She has also completed dual bachelor's degrees in Accountancy and Computer Management.
